[ Character Profile ] – Twisted and broken into something beautiful and deadly by his upbringing in Dorothea's court, Daemon is a Warlord Prince - the male caste infamous for its vicious temper and incredible power. Nicknamed 'The Sadist', by the Blood of Terielle, any attempt to control him inevitably results in someone's death.
Third Year, Bahamut house.
[ Appearance ] – At 1700 years old, Daemon is a Hayllian male just coming into his prime. Standing at six two, Daemon was bred for beauty and power. Often described as a hunting cat made human, it’s been said that he can ‘seduce anything that breathes’ – and he knows it, more than willing to use his body as a weapon to destroy the witches he so despises. With that in mind, he’s flexible on clothes and hairstyle – whatever the situation calls for; though to hide his snake-tooth (see below) he keeps his nails tinted a polished black.
[ Personality ] – Cold, calculating, and cruel, Daemon earned his title of Sadist at a young age after one of Dorothea’s ‘punishments’ finally shattered the walls between sanity and madness. As such, while he can be perfectly normal, Sadi has been known to bring about minor wars in acts of revenge – and levelled cities to the ground for twisted bedroom games.
However, there is a warmth within him – and while he can’t stand the ‘tainted’ Blood, he is well-loved by the commoners, Landens (non-magical people) and other slaves with his reputation for righting wrongs, destroying sadistic witches, and his religious dedication to the original, unedited Protocol, the laws that govern the Blood.
[ History ] – Effectively stolen from his father’s guardianship at his Birthright ceremony by Terielle’s High Priestess Dorothea, Daemon was brought up as a pleasure slave to Dorothea’s covens from his thirteenth birthday, kept almost under control by the Ring of Obedience, a device that gives immense pain at the controller’s whim. Learning at a young age that lust meant pain, he willingly embraced the dark side of his nature to escape their touch, slaughtering anyone who went ‘too far’ and earning himself a reputation as a Queen Killer, the most reviled kind of criminal amongst the Blood.
Born with the Birthright Red Jewels – the fourth strongest level of magical power – he was a match for Dorothea then; but when he descended to the Black, the deepest, Darkest web of power, he broke free after destroying the entire Realm of Terielle. Always worshipping and honouring the tenets of the true Blood, Daemon was a desperate believer in the existence of Witch – the near-goddess figure who would someday come to balance the scales of Light and Dark once and for all. Following a tiny scrap of prophecy, he left his world behind without a backwards glance to try and find her, his seeking taking him across dozens of different worlds…before finally, painfully deciding she hadn’t yet been born this millennia, but that he may have more success learning about the different worlds before he visits them.
Hence Dusk.
[ Pets ] – Pet isn’t quite accurate – but Daemon’s companion is Kaelas, a Kindred (Aware) white tiger, half again the size of a non-Kindred and possessing the mental capacity of a human being, albeit requiring a mind-link for speech.
[ Other ? ] – As well as being the second male in the Blood’s history to ever wear the Black Jewels, Daemon is also the only natural male Black Widow – a witch with the power over dreams and visions, potions and poisons. Trained by his father, the High Lord of Hayll and the Priest of the Hourglass covens (the covens of Black Widows) after Daemon’s escape from Dorothea, Sadi has the customary snake-tooth beneath the nail of his ring-finger – connected to a sac of venom of which a single drop is deadly.
